Adieu 2011 and Predictions for 2012: Welcome to our first Post!

With the last sunset of the year on 31st of December, it’s a new beginning. We are already 10 days into the 'Year of the Hullaballo: 2012'. Dreaded but celebrated nonetheless.A brand new season in fashion is round the corner and as the days roll by the coats go back to the dry-cleaners and then the hangers and the flirty little cotton tops peek out of their wardrobe cells. As we at TSS gear up for the summer all over again, we realize the updation to each season is a daunting task. From skinnies to the wide-legged jeans, from statement jewelry to minimalism, before you know it, its out of the shiny, guilt-free and ever-changing fashion world. To make it easier for you, we are listing 5 trends from 2011 which will still shine-on in 2012 and the best places to pick them up. To up the glam-deal, here are some of our favourite celebs rocking the look.

1. The Maxi Dress

The super-long maxi doesn't go out of style in 2012. A wonderful version of a cross between casual yet classy and sometimes bordering on bohemian, the maxi dress spells spring out loud. In 2012 we are looking at linen dresses with bare backs, floral prints, monochromatic, with a country appeal avatar of maxis. No one does it better than these celebs:

2.  Drop Crotch Trousers

Well, this one trend seems to have grown and grown and we yet we cannot have enough of it. It has multiple adaptations to it and each has its own flavour and a mass adoration. Its also addressed as Alibaba Pants, or Afghani pants, from monochrome silhouette to trippy prints and now also in trend for Men, this is one trend which is going to last! Adopted by designers like Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Rick Owens, the trends has come a loooong way. Here are a few looks:

3. The Floral Shirt

To us it sounds more like one of 'Our wardrobe best-friend'. It uncannily moves so freely from day to work-wear(despite the floral patterns), from casual to Office with only little effort. It evades the myth of clean monochrome shirt for a classy, sophisticated look, for the floral shirt can be just as serious or playful as you want it to be. Here are some of our favourite looks:

4. Jumpsuits

Well, this list just an unbalanced equation, without mentioning the star of S/S 2011, the Jumpsuit.
From  designer labels to high-street brands to literally street shops, the jumpsuit has conquered all avenues. The jumpsuit variations to look out for in 2012 are pastels, floral, drapes over hips and also those giving an illusion of two-pieces. Here are a few styles we have loved so far:

5. The Tuxedo Jacket

This one makes our hearts sing. The tuxedo jacket one of our favourites on the list. Androgynous sexy and if matched with wide-legged pants they screeeeam 70s glam-rock and how! This one's a classic and we believe will last many more seasons with a little more mix and match! While the padded shouldered jackets might have become a passe, try variations in shape and team with leggings or even bermuda shorts for a casual summery look! Fashionising.com brings to you a beautifully elaborate piece on how to style your tuxedo jackets for 2012 here
